My birthday this year was a short getaway trip to Bintan with my darling.
We took the ferry from Tanah Merah ferry terminal. The ferry ride was about an hour, and upon arrival at Bintan, there's a shuttle service to pick us up to our hotel.
Our cosy hotel room. We had a free upgrade to deluxe room because of birthday promotion.
We went to this place called Pasar Oleh Oleh for our dinner. This is so-called the most happening place in Bintan, but actually there is nothing much there too!!
Dinner was at Idola. I had a very delicious fried rice which cost only S$6, while he had chicken chop which cost S$14 i think. Wanted to drink coconut, but it's OOS. So i had a very sweet watermelon juice while he had a not-so-riped mango juice =)
The next morning, we had our breakfast at the hotel. Our room comes with complimentary breakfast. But somehow, the food wasnt too tasty.
The weather was quite ok when we woke up, but as we were eating, it started drizzling. N dark clouds were all over the sky.
After breakfast, the rain stopped, but still no sun.
We explored the resort then had our lunch at poolside resturant. Dear eating his hotdog bun.
Then we went to the swimming pool, but it started raining again, so we started cam-whoring...
Despite the rain, people still jumped into the pool. But we never, from the pool,we moved to the beach.
It's quite sad tt it's drizzling n the sky is full of clouds... NO SUN at all=(
So after taking some pictures, we decided to go for SPA!!!
We called up the spa to make an appt, and they will actually send someone to come to hotel to pick us up. We had this package which comes with full body scrub, massage, mask n bath. It cost $128 net per pax n the duration is 160 minutes. My first time doing a spa, quite a nice experience though.
After the spa, the sky is already dark, n we were both very very hungry. Dinner was at Helo Helo...
Total damage S$18.50, eating is not cheap at all in Bintan....
When we got back to our hotel, we saw a birthday cake on the table. Because it is a birthday promo, so we got complimentary birthday cake too!! hehhee....
So when the clock strike 12, ta da.... 07 Oct 08, i turned 23 years old, n darling sang me birthday song.
So nice to have him around.
The next morning, finally the sun is out. We had a quick tan before we check out and return home. Though its only a quick tan of less than 2 hours, i have turned into a xiao hei tan now.. Haha... But i quite like my colour now =)
Bintan is really a nice place to relax n do nothing. It is superb place for a short getaway, to escape from the city life...
I missed Bintan =)
